Case Study: XD Agency
Emotion by Design at The XD Agency: Delivering on Emotional Resonance, as well as Business Impact
Creating Impact Through Emotion
The XD Agency is known for designing experiences that deliver on emotional resonance, as well as business impact.
I feel lucky to have been at The XD Agency for my informative years as a professional designer. At XDA, our expertise was generating emotion. And because emotion is rooted in human experience, everything we did was in service of making a human connection. To that end we were able to employ a blend of so many different design disciplines.
For me that meant developing skills across multiple user-centric practices: Service design, UX design, UI Design, and Product Design.
Big Ideas, Not Big Egos
In my expereince, projects at The XD Agency always started with big questions: What is the desired affect? How do we want people to feel? What will they remember as a result of the experience? How will emotional impact result in business impact? These big questions begged for big ideas. Because the work of experiential design is really experimental, I had a lot of fun thinking and designing in this space.
Below is a gallery of documentation from a range of projects I worked on while at The XD Agency.
