Great stuff = Impact on Customers, Businesses, and Employees

I believe the most effective way to unlock impact across the board is by creating the conditions that enable high-performing people: Velocity, Quality, Vision, Belonging, and Joy.

Three Foundations Needed to Create the Conditions for Impact

1. Design Leadership
The leadership foundation is about being an effective manager. Design leadership also requires an investment in developing the team’s ability to make good judgment calls about details that affect customer perceptions.

  • Impact through others

  • Inspire - Shared understanding of our future

  • Coach - Chops to make people better

  • Mentor - Care for peoples’ growth

2. Design Strategy
The strategy foundation is about interrogating the present and imagining the future while keeping everyone aligned on an experience that will win in the market (i.e., useful, usable, and desirable).

  • Impact through UX outcomes

  • Vision - Customer-oriented winning experience strategy

  • Goals - Measurable impact on business and customers

  • Plan - A well-designed, organized, and effective function

3. Design Quality
The quality foundation is about knowing customers' needs and executing design solutions that drive business impact. Quality leadership empowers teams to determine what to do and how to do it well.

  • Impact through delivery

  • Methods - Enabling people to work effectively

  • Sensibilities - Tapping into intuitive design qualities

  • Standards - Defining what good looks like

My leadership style is human-centric.

At a high level, I see my role as a design leader as designing the system that designs the solutions. There's nothing better than enabling a collaborative environment where people feel healthy, happy, heard, and hungry. And then seeing how those conditions result in empowered teams internally and engaged customers externally.
