Experience

I’ve led impactful design teams, shipping products that customers genuinely love.

I have a thing for marketplace products (but we're not exclusive 😁). I currently work as Head of Design at AngelList Talent, a startup job marketplace. Before AngelList, I led design teams at Teachers Pay Teachers (TpT) and Fundera. TpT connects classroom teachers who need custom lesson plans with other teachers who are creating and distributing custom lesson plans. And Fundera is a marketplace where small business owners can shop for loans and lines of credit. NerdWallet recently acquired Fundera.

Exposure

I've been fortunate to work alongside wildly creative innovators & entrepreneurs.

When I first moved to New York, I cut my professional teeth with an eccentric group of experiential designers at The XD Agency. The type of work we did blended digital UX with live events. Think CES meets Comic-Con meets New York Fashion Week. We were designing for emotion, so our brainstorming sessions were epic.

Moving into software product design was a natural progression. At startups, I worked alongside different CEO types (from Sales, Product, Finance, Analytics, and Engineering). Although their backgrounds varied, they were all incredible entrepreneurs.

Education

I've had the humbling experience of teaching design to various students.

I've been a part-time faculty instructor at Parsons School of Design. I taught multiple courses in the DT (Design and Technology) and CD (Communications Design) departments.

A few years back, I also volunteered with Citizen Schools. I co-taught an after-school apprenticeship for 6th and 7th graders called "Time to Innovate. " The class was ten weeks of teaching with a final showcase on the 11th.

ELEVATION

The opportunity to make a difference in peoples' lives sparks joy in my designer soul.

I practice what I preach. I emphasize Quality, Velocity, Joy, Safety, and Impact because I know that when those foundations are humming, our team culture is humming, too. For me, there's nothing better than enabling an environment where people feel healthy, happy, heard, and hungry.

For product teams in general and designers specifically, I know that enabled teams are empowered teams. And empowered teams are effective teams. These conditions make for great problem solvers and satisfied customers.

In short, my role is to design the system that designs the solutions; this goes for people, purpose, and process.
